Tony Ashton has been creating new forms and styles of painting since the 1970's. Before that in the 60's he had experimented with sculpture, printing, performance and multi-media installation work. He often mixed these separate art forms together.
Please enjoy browsing through my gallery of diverse contemporary art where you will find paintings that explore Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, visual metaphor and aspects of art history, using brushed, dripped, printed and sprayed paint and prints from the body. Some are highly textured and have imbedded objects, many are abstract, but for some I use photo realist techniques. Aspects of Post Modernism are evident in my Hybrids. Ecological issues are explored in the Endangered Species series. Tony Ashton, Contemporary Artist.
