Nemesis No.2. 2003.
39x24 inches.
Acrylic painting on board.
Nemesis was the daughter of the night. This painting is made using flicked paint and controlling it with masking tape. I was fascinated by the idea of being able to control the randomness of flicking paint off a pallet knife, by imposing a structure on Action Painting. As the overlapping planes create ambiguity any mistakes - or "mis flicks" of the brush meant that I would have to completely repaint the whole section.
